Junkie XL - Music From SSX Blur (2007)

電玩公司 Electronic Arts (EA Games) 推出2007年新遊戲 SSX Blur ，於是和音樂廠牌 Nettwerk Music Group 合作，並將配樂的製作交由荷蘭籍的電音界泰斗 - Junkie XL 處理，於是，誕生了這片可說是 Soundtrack 形態的Music From SSX Blur。

如果把它想成是一些逗趣的聲響組合，那也太看不起 Junkie XL 了。電玩中的愉快、開心的成份是有的，Jazz Funk, Rock..等元素在他操弄起來就如同自由自在的畫筆，盡情的揮灑塗抹出他的創意和精湛地拼貼技巧，當第14首歌出現時真是絕妙的時刻，整個愉悅的心情瞬間回歸到沈澱和內省的狀態，接續的King's Crown繼出他的招牌Big Beat做出Happy Ending。曾經聽過有人說他是位電音老頑童？之前不太能了解啥意思，聽過Music From SSX Blur後就很清楚明白了。

當西洋音樂排行榜不斷的湧入各式Hip Hop的同時，我們幾乎忘了這種音樂到底還有沒有別種內容、別種表現手法？就算是教父級的Jay-Z，也還是在那些有限的節拍裡面打轉，這樣就是嘻哈了嗎？喔～對！你們會說嘻哈是一種態度？

我從來沒有排斥過Hip Hop，但是也好像已經很久沒有喜歡過，原因不外乎可以讓我聽得開心的音樂有太多可以取代Hip Hop了，Dragon Ash讓我開心，但它是半個搖滾半個嘻哈，還有一些Underground的Hip Hop也可以感受到創意，但是多半必需靠自己去"挖掘"出來。

Prefuse 73 - Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives是挖掘出來的其中一寶，這是2001年的作品，再回想現在漫天飛舞的嘻哈音樂，兩相比較下，真是有種小兒科的感覺，往往被拿來當成主題的饒舌在Prefuse 73看來，只是他豐盛Hip Hop音樂大餐中加分的小菜，Hip Hop DJ的Scratch炫技其實也不需要過度壟長，它也是一個轉場的需要而已，重點還是要回歸到音樂的整體性及風格上，聽聽看Guillermo Scott Herren如何詮釋他的嘻哈吧，在他的音樂裡面我才真看到了一種東西 - 叫做"態度"。

這張實在是太悅耳了！不僅是曲子寫的流暢，Najee行雲流水般的吹奏技巧更是呢喃動人，其他合奏的樂手，不論是吉他、鍵盤、貝斯...都是近乎完美的表現，當這些優美樂章揚起，腦海中自然會勾勒出許許多多的美好畫面，整個人頓時都鬆了下來，當然，品質極佳的錄音工程也是讓這些的好更上一層樓的原因。Rising Sun真是Smooth Jazz中的極品！

The Durutti Column - Idiot Savants

很久、很久以前......

曾經有一段時期，習慣在每天睡覺前，在一整櫃的搖滾樂錄音帶中找出一片可以伴我入眠的作品，The Durutti Column一直是那很好的選擇。

他們的音樂完全對應了"態度要堅定，身段要柔軟"這句話，基本上，他們是以清新、迷幻的民謠為主架構，軟綿綿的樂器彈奏加上主唱的呢喃唱腔，沒有任何激情，裡面盡是陰霾和霧朦朧的氛圍，卻有一種憂鬱的美感。在那個年代，這種樂風別說要打入流行樂壇，就連特立獨行的搖滾客都不容易接受。隨便算算，他們成軍至今應該超過二十個年頭了，現在再次聽到他們2007的新作，還是有著相同的感受，真是夠硬！並非是指樂風，而是指他們對於自己風格表現的堅持。

Blu Mar Ten的音樂會讓我聯想到擅長以優美音色融入碎拍的Progressive Breaks界的巨人-Hybrid，只是Blu Mar Ten並沒有以Breaks作為表現的主軸，多首結合吉他、鋼琴演奏的Downtempo細緻而深沈的直擊人心，All Over Again這首甚至以Soul House融合在極低沈的Bass Line中，在在都可以聽到他們的創意和獨特美感。聽著他們如此細膩的處理每首歌的細節以及刻畫那些豐富的層次感，我完全的被他們取悅之外，更被他們的態度所感動了。

拿最大宗的Hed Kandi系列之House相比較，Plastic City的Deep House帶來的愉悅感是間接的、輕輕柔柔地，卻能夠讓我再三反覆的回味，Hed Kandi是甜蜜蜜的，而Plastic City的東西則多了點酸酸的感覺。

Imagination Of The Shape由Eddie Richards主理，從開始的恬靜到後半段能量和力道的漸增，情緒是被他慢慢牽引著而產生變化的，就像是經歷了一段從沈睡到甦醒的多層次聽覺旅程。
