Ametsub - The Nothings of the North

Ametsub had started listening various types of music instantly by meeting pop music in his teens and made this experience clue at the same time through his childhood that he had been playing a lot with art toys and cassette tapes being interested in classic, game or nature sound as being highly fascinated with art like paintings and products. And he had also started making music that only arrange built-in sound by using old computer. After that, he had made many sound works which doesn't use equipment around him at all including strange mix work or making music which is imaged fiction story and had been absorbed in making experimental sound which doesn't handle normally and is full of playful mind feeling questions, existence or safety to sound. As he says "This is exactly my life".

我必需承認，好幾次我真的差點將它拖曳到垃圾桶中，尤其是前面幾首堆滿了冷冽實驗音色的歌曲，未免太生猛！但是....在我靜下心細細聽了幾次後，咦！竟然漸入佳境似的越聽越有味道了，包括Blind x 100中神來一筆的薩克斯風爵士吹奏，還有許多地方細碎的單音敲擊聲響竟能讓人聯想起中南半島少數民族的音樂風味，Vega這首歌則是充滿了後搖滾的氣質，粗糙的吉他由遠而近、伴隨著低沈拍子迎面襲來，展現了他們富有爆發力的另一面。現在回頭想想這張唱片，其實它是很寫實的，就像我們的生活一樣，複雜、多元、五味雜陳！

當西洋音樂排行榜不斷的湧入各式Hip Hop的同時，我們幾乎忘了這種音樂到底還有沒有別種內容、別種表現手法？就算是教父級的Jay-Z，也還是在那些有限的節拍裡面打轉，這樣就是嘻哈了嗎？喔～對！你們會說嘻哈是一種態度？

我從來沒有排斥過Hip Hop，但是也好像已經很久沒有喜歡過，原因不外乎可以讓我聽得開心的音樂有太多可以取代Hip Hop了，Dragon Ash讓我開心，但它是半個搖滾半個嘻哈，還有一些Underground的Hip Hop也可以感受到創意，但是多半必需靠自己去"挖掘"出來。

Prefuse 73 - Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives是挖掘出來的其中一寶，這是2001年的作品，再回想現在漫天飛舞的嘻哈音樂，兩相比較下，真是有種小兒科的感覺，往往被拿來當成主題的饒舌在Prefuse 73看來，只是他豐盛Hip Hop音樂大餐中加分的小菜，Hip Hop DJ的Scratch炫技其實也不需要過度壟長，它也是一個轉場的需要而已，重點還是要回歸到音樂的整體性及風格上，聽聽看Guillermo Scott Herren如何詮釋他的嘻哈吧，在他的音樂裡面我才真看到了一種東西 - 叫做"態度"。

World's End Girlfriend - 一個叫人期待不已的名字，在去年與 Mono 合作推出 《Palmless Prayer》以後，今次帶給大家的是依然 full of wonder 的《hurtbreak wonderland》。與上一張個人大碟《the lie lay land》一般，這也是一張一按著 CD player 就會一頭裁進去被他的灰黑又華麗的音樂世界包圍著的專輯。強烈的電影感貫穿著整張專輯，時而輕快，時而深沉，當你正在被優美動人的弦 樂琴聲打動著之際，忽然破裂失控的電結他與敲擊不由分說給你一個當頭棒喝，彷彿在告訴你現實的殘 酷。比起前作《the lie lay land》，這一張《hurtbreak wonderland》多了些動人旋律，卻因為這些美，更顯出另一面灰黑世界的深沉與分裂。看著 CD 封面的畫(冨谷悦子Fukaya Etsuko作品)， 突然覺得它與音樂實在同出一徹：純白的少女走進到 處佈滿奇異生物的黑白奇幻世界。強烈推薦於晚上獨自聆聽，並且一定要順序不能間斷，不過小心掉進奇幻世界出不來！(相關文字介紹：dosss / 袁智聰 / brandon)

"真是瘋狂的傢伙！" 第一次聽完時我自己在心裡這麼嘀咕著，同時也被這樣形態的表現方式震懾到久久無法回魂...。他們的創作聽起來即興自由，樂器的編制卻又是如此華麗而龐大，他們只管走自己的路，聽不出來有任何規矩能約束的了他們，若這是一部電影，想必是一部超現實夢幻奇異古典科幻內心戲！World's End Girlfriend - Hurtbreak Wonderland絕對是今年後搖作品中的經典好片！
