Spyro Gyra - Good To Go-Go

成立30年的爵士光環樂團，從1979年以『Morning Dance』一舉成名後，原本是一群錄音室伴奏樂手的組合，從此成為融合爵士樂風的重量級樂團。然而經過多年的歷練與成長，團員也數次更動，但是爵士光環就像團名一樣的歷久不衰。 他們就好比是音樂的長跑健將，對於創作的執著與堅持依舊。不過，2007年的最新專輯『即興趴趴走』當中也加入一位來自千里達的鼓手與打擊樂手Bonny B。

這次的錄音對於團員而言，可說是一種全新的體驗。過去錄音專輯發表時，往往為了商業考量，許多演奏細節一再斟酌更動。當Bonny B加入時，大夥一起巡演好幾個月。在默契良好之下，整個錄音演奏時就如同現場演出的快活。這種如臨現場的興奮與緊張壓力，讓樂團成員變得更年輕有活力。一曲「Get Busy」不但輕盈暢快，節奏特性更是無與倫比。由Bonny B所創作的樂曲「Jam Up」，不僅結合千里達鋼鼓與雷鬼節奏，Bonny的俏皮嘻哈更是一絕。「Easy Street」則是略帶懷舊的典型樂團風格與「Winter Tale」的浪漫舖陳形成對比的趣味。當然即興活力全開的標題曲「Good To Go Go」，更代表了樂團忠於音樂的信念。本輯絕對是樂迷讚不絕口的錄音傑作。

Iiro Rantala New Trio - Elmo

這個有趣的芬蘭爵士三重奏由鍵盤手Iiro Rantala、吉他手Marzi Nyman和一位Beatbox鬼才Felix Zenger所組成，呵呵～我甚至於還沒聽到他們演出就笑出來了，因為這實在是很創新、很絕妙的構成方式！他們的爵士聽起來就像是有三股力量交會在一起，常常是一分鐘前後風格完全迥異，跳Tone跳很大！三位樂手的音樂特質不盡相同卻可以和諧共鳴，Piano的彈奏除了輕快跳躍的爵士之外，也出現了大量的古典樂基調，即興加入的口技節拍聲響則讓整個過程有趣了許多，而吉他手適時飆出按耐不住的藍調搖滾，也能令人精神為之一振，最後一首歌，重新詮釋了吉他之神-Jimi Hendrix名作Little Wing，真是一個令人大呼過癮的完美Ending！

Sadao Watanabe (渡辺貞夫, Watanabe Sadao) is a world class saxophonist with career span from 1950s till now. He's still active and productive, with lots of tours everywhere in his 75 years of age. This is his best album back from 1992, and remastered in 2007. All his best mostly from 80s and 70s. Absolutely gorgeous album, very relaxing and smooth. Some fusion, some reggae-ish, bossa/samba, are here, but they are all in the term of smooth. Not available anywhere else at the moment on the internet... so grab this while it's still hot!

Akira Jimbo可說是日本樂壇中爵士鼓手的第一把交椅，也是Fusion樂隊Casiopea的專任鼓手，這張以他個人名義發行的專輯邀請了幾位非常出色的樂手加入演奏，不論是他的鼓、吉他、鍵盤...都以最曼妙的音色和技巧將優美旋律詮釋的完美無瑕。專輯第一曲Four Colors以饒富當代爵士的風味帶入，再以悠揚的Smooth Jazz接續演出，慢慢的再將一些拉丁的元素融入其中，一種清爽而放鬆的感覺由然而生。

Marcus Miller - Marcus

這大概是我這輩子聽到的唱片中，第一片、也是唯一一片以Electric Bass做為主奏的專輯，算是我的一個小小嘗試。少了以往在聽覺上依賴的搧情吉他嘶吼，卻有著出乎意料的獨特感受，你可以很清楚的聽到Marcus Miller運用了各種炫技演出，但我不認為那支Bass真有什麼神奇魔力，優異的編曲、製作能力才是讓專輯悅耳出色的主因；他的Jazz融合了許多R&B, Funk, Smooth Jazz的特性，歌曲的表情因此顯得多元而豐富，專輯中也重新詮釋了包括：Stevie Wonder、Miles Davis...等名家的經典老歌，這些歌曲經由他的巧手改編，硬是變成了一首首活潑生動的Jazz Funk或是像Track 10般極其優美的Smooth Jazz(這是我聽過最棒的一個When I Fall In Love！)。

Incognito-這個以 Jean-Paul Maunick 為主腦的傳奇 Jazz 團隊，八零年代至今，不知創作出多少膾炙人口的經典名曲，除了旋律優美和輕鬆愉悅的情境之外，精細的分工和流暢編曲更是成就多張完美專輯的重要因素。最重要的是.....Incognito改變了我一直排拒Jazz於門外的態度，也修正了我的一些聽覺習慣，如此親和、長相平凡的曲子卻讓我在其中聽到了許多的不平凡和驚喜，聽著聽著...常常會有一絲感動浮上心頭，因為那些行雲流水般的樂器演奏，因為那些精準到位Vocal表現，確確實實地帶來了絕佳的聽覺享受。
