Mice Parade - What It Means To Be Left-Handed

Mice Parade is an anagram of Adam Pierce. Pierce used to play with the low-fi pop band Swirlies and was co-founder of Dylan Group, The. Mice Parade is his solo project. Mice Parade is electronic music without electronics. It sounds like electronic music, but in fact hardly any samples are used on his albums. All the instruments on the albums Mokoondi and Ramda for example, are played live and were recorded in one take. Most of the instruments were played by Adam Pierce himself.

對於中國地下音樂的認知，我始終停留在十幾年前的印象，如：崔健、竇唯、張楚、黑豹、唐朝等...，一來是由於個人聽音樂類型的大轉變，二來是因為自魔岩之後，後面似乎也沒有其他唱片公司再繼續引進介紹，所以，實在是出現了一個好大的斷層。
透過北京友人-小熊的推薦與介紹，我聽到了一個屬於新世代地下北京的聲音-拖特巴士，溫和、清爽的不插電民謠風，有如一陣陣輕撫過的微風，讓人感覺到一整個的心平氣和，他們所傳遞出來的是一種貼近生活面的聲音，是一些很容易融入生活的旋律，若真要說有什麼缺點？恐怕就是專輯那20幾分鐘的長度未免太短了，舒坦的情緒才剛醞釀好就停止了，只得不斷地Repeat...再Repeat...。

Kristin Hersh - Learn To Sing Like A Star

曾經，在那個沒有網路的時代，為了尋覓一張好唱片或是吸收到相關知識，除了傳媒之外唯一的途徑就是逛唱片行的雜誌和唱片後頭樂評人的推文去找出關連性和一些蛛絲馬跡，有一櫃的唱片是每次都會讓我駐腳停留的，那就是專門代理和製作獨立音樂的水晶唱片，一直到現在，他們的Slogan-"俗媚之外．還有水晶" 還深深的烙印在我心裡。

1994年4AD所發行Hips And Makers是我的第一張Kristin Hersh唱片，也是她的第一張專輯，在當時，對於一個金屬小子來說是稍嫌軟調了一些，但是慢慢地，我聽它的頻率卻越來越多，她那冷峻、低沈的曲調似乎更適合一個人在家裡享受，現在，也就是在十幾年以後，狂暴的金屬和硬蕊已經成為架上的裝飾品，而Kristin Hersh的唱片還是可以常常拿出來回味。

Band Of Horses - Everything All The Time

不知道該怎麼去形容我有多喜歡這張唱片，有個性之外還有親和力、內斂卻仍有一定的張力，這大概是近期以內我感到最短的一個四十分鐘。如果不是中段時來了那麼一段曼陀林的南方民謠曲調，我還以為是個英國或是北歐的樂隊，主唱高八度的聲音就像從高山上流瀉出來一般在山谷中迴盪著，第一次聽到就已經著迷了，我想這就是所謂的穿透力。到了他們的myspace看了一下差點沒摔倒，他們的造型就像剛從農場下班的莊稼漢一樣，和我的想像實在有點差距...。
